NFB Computer Science Scholarship 2011

Each year at its national convention in July, the NFB gives a broad array of thirty scholarships to recognize achievement by blind scholars.
All applicants for these scholarships:
1. must be legally blind (PDF document) in both eyes, and
2. must be residing in the United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico, and
3. must be pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time, postsecondary course of study in a degree program at a United States institution in the current scholastic year, except that one scholarship may be given to a person employed full-time while attending school part-time, and
4. must participate in the entire NFB national convention and in all scheduled scholarship program activities. More >

American Society of Women Accountants 2011

The American Society of Women Accountants Scholarship(s) will be awarded to applicants majoring in accounting at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college, university, or professional school of accountancy in Southwest Missouri. The applicants should have completed the equivalent of at least Intermediate Financial Accounting I at the time of application. Microbiology Undergraduate Research Fellowship 2011

The Microbiology Undergraduate Research Fellowship (MURF), formerly known as the ASM Minority Undergraduate Research Fellowship program is aimed to increase the number of underrepresented undergraduate students who wish to, and have demonstrated the ability to pursue graduate careers (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) in microbiology. Students will have the opportunity to conduct full time summer research with an ASM member at their home institution or at a host institution, and present research results at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students and the ASM General Meeting.

PhD allowance for Peshawar University teachers

A delegation of the Peshawar University Teachers Association that called on Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti here on Tuesday demanded uniformity in allowances for PhD scholars at the national level.
The delegation, led by its president Dr Joher Ali, apprised the chief minister of problems confronting the teachers and demanded establishment of a college for their children.
Mr Hoti urged the association members to transfer their knowledge to the new generation. More >
